At work (a big cloud provider), we use Brady B-427 labels, and wrap them around both fibers and copper to make a flag label: http://www.bradyid.com.sg/en-sg/thermal-transfer-printable-labels-self-laminating-vinyl-b-427/fam-BRSG_PF30157.html with an i7100 printer: https://www.bradyid.com/en-us/category/bradyprinter-i7100-industrial-label-printer-and-accessories/202296070

Alternatively, Panduit makes sheets for laser printers too:
https://www.panduit.com/en/products/signs-labels-identification/labels-markers-printers/desktop-printer-labels.html - -YAJ part numbers are suitable for laser/inkjet printers.

For break fix and personal (homelab) labels, I print flag labels too, using a Brady BMP-21 and Brady M21-1500-427 labels. Some companies use Panduit’s LS8 series printers, but Panduit consumables are priced to almost extortionary levels.

If you’d like pictures of how these labels look like when pasted as flags onto wires, I can probably send them through, but out of consideration for not spamming pictures to the mailing list I won’t attach them here.

It works well, just that the cable flags do cause obstructive when I need to do more new cabling within the racks plus the fact that I find the labels are quite expensive for such a short length.
